Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Weil Street Digital, LLC (“Wayward,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information in connection with the Wayward website and mobile application (the “App”). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, username, and any other information you provide during registration.
  • Content: Photos, text, tags, and other materials you upload to the Wayward public archive.
  • Location data: When you contribute Content, you may provide location information such as GPS coordinates, street addresses, or neighborhood names to identify where street art is located.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: We collect information about how you interact with the App, including pages visited, features used, and actions taken.
  • Device information: We may collect device type, operating system, browser type, and unique device identifiers.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: We use cookies or tokens to collect analytics and maintain your session. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features of the App may not function properly without them.
  • Image metadata: Photos you upload may contain metadata such as EXIF data (camera model, date taken, GPS coordinates). We may use this metadata to improve the accuracy of archive records.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Wayward App and public archive;
  • Display your contributed Content publicly as part of the archive;
  • Create derivative works necessary for the operation of the service, such as thumbnails and reformatted images;
  • Communicate with you about your account, including service announcements and security alerts;
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve the App; and
  • Enforce our Terms of Use and protect the rights and safety of Wayward and its users.

Public Nature of Contributed Content

Wayward is a public archive of street art. Content you upload — including photos, location data, tags, and descriptions — is publicly visible by design. Anyone can view Content in the archive without creating an account.

Please do not upload Content that contains personal information you do not want to be publicly accessible.

Information We Share

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:

  • Public archive: Content you contribute is displayed publicly as described above.
  • Service providers: We share information with third-party providers that help us operate the App, such as hosting providers, content delivery networks, and analytics services. These providers are authorized to use your information only as necessary to provide services to us.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Wayward, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers: If Wayward is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Data Retention

Because Wayward is a public archive, contributed Content is retained indefinitely to preserve the historical record of street art. This is consistent with the perpetual license described in our Terms of Use.

Account information (such as your email address and profile details) is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal account information. However, Content you contributed to the public archive will remain available, and may no longer be associated with an identifiable user account.

Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time. When you delete your account:

  • Your personal account information (email address, profile details) will be deleted.
  • Content you contributed to the public archive will remain available, as described in our Terms of Use.
  • Your username may no longer be displayed alongside contributed Content.

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
